Willow Weaving with Barry Noyce - 2 of 2

Working with locally grown willow rods we will make up a series of hoops before assembling them together and weaving the basket. A wrapped handle will then be completed to finish. During the day, different basket techniques will be shown and discussed as well as methods of planting, growing and harvesting of willow.

Cost for the day is 65 euros and this includes 10 euros for prepared materials.

Barry comes with his own home-grown willow and with his gift of creating a special ambience as he gently and diligently teaches the craft. It is a day to treat oneself, learn a new craft and take home your own unique creation.

Yes, willow weaving is a wholesome and meditative process. I love growing the stuff too as it shows such strength and vigour as it re-grows every year.
